We have invested in transforming of lives through one of the most powerful tool – Education. Through the Vipingo Scholarship programme hundreds of students from needy families have benefited from fully paid sponsorships through their secondary school education.
Vipingo Development Plc hosted the Vipingo Development Scholarship Programme Class of 2016 at Awali Estate to celebrate their exemplary performance in the KCSE 2020 examinations. The first cohort of the Vipingo Development Scholarship Fund who visited the project in June 2021, comprised of 49 scholars who registered remarkable results.

The development has over the last 3 years embarked on a school upgrading programme which has seen the building of 10 classrooms at Timboni, Makonde, Kadzinuni and Mkwajuni Primary Schools within the project neighborhood. Over 400 pupils now have access to high quality learning infrastructure.
Vipingo Development launched a fully sponsored Vocational Technical Training programme in July 2018. The programme is aimed at equipping youth from the local community with technical skills that would enable them to competitively engage in gainful employment within and beyond Vipingo Development. The training is undertaken by trainers from ArcSkills, a globally accredited institution and part of GEM education.
To date over 102 youth have received training, graduated, and have since found employment within the development and in other developments.
To support vulnerable households who were finding it extremely difficult to afford meals due to the slowdown in economic activities as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Centum Investment Company, Centum staff, friends of Centum, homeowners and partners in Centum’s Vipingo Development project donated food hampers to over 2,000 vulnerable households.
The distribution was aided by a zero-contact system developed by Centum’s subsidiary, Ajiry which sent text notification with a pin number to the beneficiaries’ mobile phones. For those without phones, the text notification was sent to assigned mobile numbers belonging to family members, trusted neighbours or community leaders.
Vipingo Development also donated 2.5 tonnes of dry grains to Faith Evangelistic Ministries in Kikambala, Kilifi County and donated a further 1,000 food hampers to Kilifi County Government for distribution to needy households within Kaloleni subcounty in Kilifi County.
As part of the sports sponsorship programme, Vipingo Development Plc has donated football Kits to the following football teams from the project area .
Each of the following teams receiving full uniform (Jerseys, Shorts, Stockings and Shoes) and footballs.
